The CINEMAEDITOR has been published “in house” with film editor Edgar Burcksen, A.C.E. leading the team as Editor and acclaimed writer Vincent LoBrutto serving as the magazine’s Associate Editor since the year 2000. The CinemaEditor first appeared in May of 1951, approximately six months after the founding of the American Cinema Editors on November 28, 1950. At that time it was issued quarterly as an “in-house” publication of the organization. In March of 1963, under President Anthony Wollner, the format was upgraded and was distributed throughout the industry to 5,000 subscribers. In 1986, Howard Kunin began publishing the magazine in its largest format and it began selling over the counter on magazine stands. At the end of 1991 it ceased publication due to creative differences. It was kept alive as an “in-house” publication by ACE Presidents, George Grenville and Michael Hoggan.
